Website launch: Reversible Archive. Women’s Nonfiction Filmmaking in Peru (1970-2020)
On June 6, in a public event at the San Marcos University in Lima, was launched the Reversible Archive, created by Dr Isabel Seguí and Peruvian researcher Lorena Best.
This website is a gateway to primary sources for studying women's nonfiction filmmaking in Peru, opening digital access to previously scattered or hidden films and documents. We are committed to making these archival materials available to a diverse and inclusive user base, including students, critics, researchers, filmmakers, and communicators. We believe that new rigorous and comprehensive histories of Peruvian cinema are waiting to be written, filmed, and shared by all.
The platform is a living, evolving entity that constantly adds new content and curatorial voices. Visit it regularly to explore the unfolding lines of research. The first part of the project, now live, has been funded by the Leverhulme Trust. We are already working on the second part, supported by the St Andrews Impact Fund.
