Undergraduate study in English

Studying English at St Andrews will give you the opportunity to read and reflect on a broad range of topics across a variety of literary genres from the Middle Ages to the present day - taught via a combination of lectures and small tutorial groups in the first two years of study.

The modules offered in first and second year will equip you with the range of literary experience and critical skills necessary for more in-depth study of specialist subject areas at Honours level - with modules in English, Scottish, Irish and American literature, as well as prose, verse, drama and even film.
