Biography
Alex Davis works on the literature and culture of the late medieval and early modern periods. He is the author of three books: Chivalry and Romance in the English Renaissance (2003); Renaissance Historical Fiction (2011); and Imagining Inheritance From Chaucer to Shakespeare (2020). With Neil Rhodes, Harriet Archer, and Gordon Kendal he is one of the editors of the MHRA Tudor and Stuart Translations edition of Erasmus in English, 1523-1584 (2023). He would welcome enquiries from prospective research students in any of these areas of study.
