Teaching Excellence Awards
The newly rebranded 1413 Teaching Excellence Awards took place on Friday 5 April 2024 in Parliament Hall. The awards celebrate outstanding contribution to learning and teaching across the University.
This year’s awards recognised colleagues from five schools for their significant contribution over the past year.
The awards were presented by the Principal. The winners are:
Dr Jacqueline Nairn, School of Biology
Dr Madhavi Nevader, School of Divinity
Dr Paula Villegas, International Education Institute
Dr Xi Xi, Business School – Management
Dr Finn Smith – School of Maths and Statistics
The awards ceremony also recognised those who have received a category of Advance HE Fellowship this academic year, either through direct application to Advance HE, or through the University’s internal St Andrews Recognition Scheme (STARS). The Awards also celebrated those who have graduated from the University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP).
As part of the Awards, the Students’ Association also recognised 12 outstanding staff members for their contributions to learning, teaching, and research at the University.
