University-led reviews of learning and teaching
The University-led review of learning and teaching (URLT) is a thorough academic review which takes place every six years. The URLT is in addition to the annual report each School and Department must submit to the Academic Monitoring group.
A review schedule 2020-32 (PDF) has been agreed by the Academic Monitoring Group, and the current cycle is planned to 2032.
Comprehensive guidance on the review process can be found in the handbooks:
- University-led reviews of learning and teaching for Schools/Departments
- University-led reviews of Professional Service units
The University also operates a five-stage review process for collaborative provision. Guidance on the five-stage review process can be found in the handbook: Agreement renewal review for collaborative programmes.
A review process for new taught postgraduate programmes was introduced by the University in AY 2023/24. This process ensures that all new PGT programmes are reviewed from an academic quality assurance perspective and business perspective at specific points following the date of commencement of delivery.
Guidance on the process can be found in the handbook: Review process for new taught postgraduate programmes.
