Josh Duffield's reports on his trip to Chicago!
Josh Duffield was awarded a Travel Grant to attend a meeting in Chicago. Below is a report about this journey, in his own words.
"The focus of the summer school was Climate and Extreme events. It consisted of lectures in the first week, presented by leading climate scientists from across America, and a hackathon throughout. For the hackathon, I was in a group of four, working very closely with one of the lecturers (Yi Zhang, New York University) on the topic of subtropical amplified heat stress. We investigated why the highest levels of heat stress are observed in subtropical land regions, using a suite of idealised climate simulations. The hackathon was especially enjoyable, and our group has continued the work since, even submitting an abstract for a poster at AGU."
