New exhibition ‘Alien Worlds’ opens at the Wardlaw Museum
The University of St Andrews Wardlaw Museum has unveiled Alien Worlds – an interactive and cross-disciplinary exhibit that reveals how we imagine, understand and explore extraterrestrial worlds, and the cultural and historical backdrop against which this work is conducted. The exhibition has been co-curated by Dr Emily Finer (Modern Languages), Dr Claire Cousins (Earth and Environmental Sciences) and PhD student Emma Puranan (Physics and Astronomy). The exhibition shows the intersection between scientific discovery, science fiction, and political, cultural and scientific history and how these collectively progress our understanding of the Universe and our place within it. The exhibition is free and runs until 5thJanuary 2025.
