Successful Thesis Defence: Dr Toby Boocock
Congratulations to Dr Toby Boocock for defending his PhD thesis entitled "The behaviour of nitrogen during differentiation of Earths igneous continental crust".
His examiners were Dr Ralf Halama (Keele Univ.) and Prof Chris Ballentine (Univ. Oxford). His PhD was supervised by Dr Eva Stueeken, Dr Sami Mikhail, and Dr Julie Prytulak (Durham Univ.).
The magnificent cake was the creation of PhD student, Helen Innes. It depicts the gas line Toby constructed to extract and purify nitrogen from geological samples.
