New Electron Probe Micro Analyser

The School is delighted to announce the installation of our new JEOL iSP100 Electron Probe Micro Analyser, the first of this model in the UK. This piece of kit will permit the chemical analysis of samples down to the micron-scale. With this new kit we’ll be training students, collaborating with national and international colleagues, pushing the limitations of this technology to the maximum. Also delivered was a Jeol JSM-F100 FEG electron microscope with a SXES detector (one of only 2 in the UK).
