• Cost of Living Appeal

  The cost of living crisis is now in its third year and it is impacting our students more than ever. As part of our ongoing response, the Students' Association and the University of St Andrews worked together to found the Campus Larder, which provides free food and essentials to students who are struggling financially. The Larder has supported over 300 visits since it opened at the end of 2023.

  By giving to our Cost of Living Appeal you will help to fund the Campus Larder and other means of support, including help with accommodation costs, travel and childcare for interviews or internships, and the costs of professional clothing for work placements.

• Student Support Fund

  Our Student Support Fund – which provides direct financial support to students – has been a huge help to those currently studying at St Andrews. Students have always faced financial hardship during their time at university, however the challenges are now exceptionally harsh as a result of the ongoing cost of living crisis. Since this crisis shows no signs of abating we need additional support for the next academic year, and potentially beyond.

• Wardlaw Scholarships programme

  For many people, university is financially out of reach. Therefore, we are continuing to seek support for our Wardlaw Scholarships Programme for undergraduate students. Now – more than ever – this programme is a lifeline for prospective students facing financial hardship: it can make the difference between a young person being able to access the life-changing experience of a St Andrews education or having to turn it down. 

• St Leonard's College 50th anniversary scholarships

  St Leonard's College is at the heart of postgraduate life at the University of St Andrews and, this year, celebrated 50 years since its reconstitution in November 1974. We want postgraduate study at St Andrews to be accessible to the very best students, regardless of financial circumstances. 

  We are seeking support with a range of postgraduate scholarships in order to expand our provision and support for widening participation in postgraduate study at the University.

• Areas of Greatest Need

  We are also seeking support for our Areas of Greatest Need fund. This vital source of funding enables the University to respond quickly to wherever a financial need is greatest. The extraordinary circumstances of the past four years have demonstrated that this fund is crucial for helping to mitigate the impact felt by our students as a result of global events including Covid, economic crises and political unrest, which have made university life more challenging than ever.
