A 15-unit textbook for university students in Japan, this work focuses on some of the great minds through history who have contributed to the world of science, engineering and technology.
Beginning with Archimedes, the textbook is chronological, covering figures such as James Watt, Isambard Kingdom Brunel and Alan Turing, finishing with Sir Tim Berners-Lee.
It is hoped that this will introduce learners to the achievements of these people, as well as exposing them to words and terms connected to the topics.
As well as reading and dictation sections, each unit contains exercises on vocabulary as well as a 'Think About It' section, which encourages learners to focus on one aspect of the subject`s work and either draw a diagram or solve some problem.
