British Regional Geology: South of Scotland

Andrew McMillan, BSc 1974

This is the fourth edition of the Geological Survey guide to the geology of the South of Scotland, first published in 1935. It takes account of the revolution in our understanding of plate tectonics and also the huge volume of additional data generated over the last 30 years.

This fully ilustrated book provides an up-to-date interpretation of the geology of the early Palaeozoic Southern Uplands terrane, as well as the later Carboniferous and Permian sedimentary basins.

It also includes a modern interpretation of the Quaternary glaciations of the region. Bibliographic reference Stone, P, McMillan A A, Floyd J D, Barnes R P and Phillips E R 2012.
