'The BBC: A People's History' is an authorised history of the BBC, published in 2022 to coincide with the broadcaster's Centenary. David, who is Emeritus Professor of Media sand Cultural History at the University of Sussex, worked for the BBC as a producer in the late-1980s and early-1990s, and has since written five books, as well as regularly writing and presenting series for BBC radio, including the 30-part Radio 4 series, 'Noise: a Human History', broadcast in 2013.
