Honorary alumnus Sir John Lister-Kaye has launched his memoir of a 1950s childhood The Dun Cow Rib, A Very Natural Childhood.

Sir John is one of Scotland's best loved naturalists and nature writers. He is founder of the internationally acclaimed, award winning Aigas Field Centre in Strathglass, which hosts study groups from all over the world and handles 7,000 school pupils from Highland schools in environmental education programmes.

His latest book is a moving exploration of the influences that made him a naturalist, and a paen to his remarkable mother.
