Empower Women

Eli Fei, MRes 2018

Empower Women is a new book with Chinese local characteristics of women's growth in 2024. Compared with the past works on women in China, it is the first feminist work that integrates Chinese and Western theories and Chinese local practices, and is at the forefront of similar inspirational books on women, both in terms of its shallow-to-depth content and its hardcover format.

Fei Eli, the author of this book and former senior reporter and editorial director of Phoenix Satellite Television, looks back on the experiences of her younger years and her reflections over the years, blending her many years of schooling in China and the West and her experience of working in a variety of fields and industries, which can have a powerful resonance for women nowadays. It is hoped that her reflections and quest can help people in different fields and of different ages to break out of their comfort zones and meet challenges at different stages of their lives, and to find the strength that belongs to them and theirs. As China's authoritative media outlet People's Daily reported on this book, Fei Eli looks back on "the roughest part of her life when she was young", recounts her own life experiences and her thoughts and methods over the years, and shares frankly how she has traversed the many dilemmas of modern women's lives, and thoroughly explores the pursuit of happiness, self-growth, direction control, awakening to independence, and the family of origin, The nine topics of "Women's Power" are discussed in a thorough manner.

"What is the power of women? The author's answer is that when we stop defining the meaning of our lives in terms of gender and ask ourselves "who am I"; when we step away from social constraints and embrace our own natural resources and energies, then women can truly have the freedom of "I am me" and unleash the true "love of self". Only when we step away from the social discipline and embrace our own natural resources and energy can women truly have the vast freedom of "I am who I am" and unleash the infinite power of "loving ourselves"!
