Places available
Places available : 8 semester places (or 4 full year places) will be available at National Taiwan University in the academic year 2025-2026.
Places available may vary from year to year depending on the exchange balance. Numbers for the following academic year will be confirmed at the information meeting.
Living there
Getting there and getting around
Most international flights land at Taoyuan International Airport (TPE). The journey from Taoyuan International Airport to central Taipei is about 40 kilometres. NTU has three campuses within close proximity to each other in the Da’an and Wanhua Districts of Taiwan. Travelling from the NTU Main Campus to ShuiYuan Campus takes around 20 minutes on public transport and from the Main Campus to the Downtown Campus is between 25-30 minutes.

NTU's Office of International Affairs provides international students with an online pre-arrival guidebook online pre-arrival guide book and a post-arrival guide.
It also provides a series of welcome activities to welcome all international students, including a campus tour, an orientation session, registration and the Chinese placement test.

Visa application costs
Taiwan requires a medical certificate as part of the student visa application. You will need to pay for a medical examination and associated x-ray and blood tests. You should ensure that you arrange this process well before the visa application deadline. Further information is on the Resident Visas and NTU exchange pages.
Insurance
The Ministry of Education requires all international students to be medically insured for the duration of their stay in China. Please note that students without insurance are not allowed to register. It’s advised to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan of Foreign Students provided by Ping An Insurance Company when you register. The National Health Insurance Act stipulates that foreigners with a Valid Alien Residence Certificate or Residence certificate for the Taiwan area must be registered in the National Health Insurance program upon living in Taiwan for 6 months. Foreign students can apply to enrol in the NHI program through their university.
