Macquarie University, while relatively young at only 60 years old, has already garnered international recognition and has risen to be considered one of Australia's best universities. They also offer a unique Global Leadership Program which allows students to foster a global outlook and skills which they put into practice by volunteering in Sydney and around Australia. Macquarie University has about 40,000 students from over 100 countries. It is located just 15km outside of Sydney and is connected to the city center by easily accessible train and bus routes. Macquarie students benefit from this vibrant, multicultural city environment.

Getting there and getting around

Flights to Sydney leave many major airports.

Sydney has an excellent public transportation system. Macquarie University is connected to the city by both train and bus lines. Useful information is available for arriving international students

Accommodation

Macquarie University offers a wide range of accommodation, from Residential Colleges to University managed Apartments. Most Halls of Residence are located close to campus and all are located near a public transportation stop. They also have a website which offers private off-campus accommodation to Macquarie University students only.
