The University of Valladolid is situated in the city of Valladolid, in the Castile and León region of north-west Spain. Founded in the 13th century, Valladolid has almost 32,000 undergraduate students, around 1,500 of whom are international, who live and study amongst the beautiful mediaeval buildings and streets of this historic city. Spanish Language Courses are also available to students. There is usually a fee for these courses. St Andrews expects students to attend all classes as part of their programme abroad. Assessment methods may vary across partners and could include class participation, continuous assessment in the form of homework and final exams. Getting there and getting around
Students can fly to Valladolid Airport or to Madrid Airport. From Madrid, there is a regular train and bus service to Valladolid which may be booked through Alsa.com. Further information can be obtained in the International Students Welcome Guide. Students should report to the International Relations Office on arrival in Valladolid.
Local transport is regular and well-connected for ease of travel.
Accommodation
The UVa helps students to find accommodation before their arrival, based on students’ preferences. Different options for University accommodation are available and has thorough guidance on their webpage.
There is also the option to rent privately. The UVa collaborates with the online accommodation search platform for students ErasmusPlay, that helps you compare the available accommodation offer quickly and easily. In addition, you can make an entirely secure reservation, since all their accommodations are verified. The student association Erasmus Student Network University of Valladolid, ESN Valladolid, also provides an accommodation search group for international mobility students. The approximate price is € 180 – € 220/month per room, which may vary depending on the expenses included, such as electricity, gas, water or internet. The total cost of these utilities usually ranges from € 50 to € 80 per person, depending on the actual consumption and the number of people sharing.
