Dance St Andrews - Digital Dance
Dance St Andrews was awarded £1125 towards its Digital Dance programme, online and digital dance classes for the youngest and oldest members of the local community.
The dance programme, which focuses on the Scottish dance genres of Highland, National and Scottish Country Dancing, was designed to engage pre-school children and the elderly (both community dwelling and those in Care Homes) to promote activity, a sense of wellbeing, and encourage good mental and physical health.
The resources will be freely available, not time limited, and accessible through the group's YouTube channel or direct from Dance St Andrews.
Dance St Andrews Community Interest Company (CIC) is a community dance school founded in 2019 to promote wellbeing through dance for all. The group currently offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, highland and national from pre-school (age three and up) to teacher training.
Dance St Andrews aims to bring social change by delivering a positive message through dance education and performance: they believe anyone can dance and that there are no physical or age barriers to being a dancer.
