Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance
The Department of Finance hosts the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance. This Centre investigates challenges facing shareholder-owned and cooperative financial institutions, corporates and households.
The Centre was founded in 2011 and comprises faculty, PhD candidates, and an extensive and active international network of academic fellows. There is an active working paper series and the regular Contemporary Issues in Banking conference.
Engagement and collaboration
The Department runs a regular seminar series, which draws in academic and policy speakers from across the world.
Members of the Department of Finance and the Centre for Responsible Banking and Finance are active in knowledge exchange and have worked with and advised:
- Policy bodies: Scottish Parliament; Dutch Ministries of Finance, Economic Affairs, Infrastructure and Agriculture; Dutch central bank; UK Financial Conduct Authority; Irish Ministry of Finance; UK parliamentary select committees; and the South African Reserve Bank
