Undergraduate study at the University of St Andrews Business School

The School offers a range of undergraduate degrees in Economics, Finance, and Management.

Economics is a social science concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of goods and services. Modern economics is a broad discipline that links almost all aspects of human behaviour and interactions, from running a business and purchasing stock to getting married and taking a job.

Finance is the study of managing available funds, including saving and lending money, cash at hand, and risk. It includes areas of personal, corporate or public finance relating to incomes, expenditure, debts, loans, balancing risk, profitability, and value of stock.

Management is a dynamic discipline that empowers individuals to navigate the complexities of the modern business world. It encompasses the key techniques employed by marketing professionals and financial analysts, as well as the strategic skills successful managers use to overcome challenges. Through a deep understanding of organisational behavior and individual strengths, management provides a framework for effective leadership and decision-making in any setting.

The Department of Management participates in the University's supported entry and transition programmes, the Gateway to Arts, the FE-HE Pathway to Arts, and the FE-HE Pathway to Science.
