Student support and guidance
Our programmes use a mix of traditional lectures, small-group tutorials and seminars, and hands-on computer lab sessions to create an engaging learning experience. We assess your progress through continuous coursework and end-of-semester exams. You'll also complete a 15,000-word dissertation on a topic relevant to your postgraduate Masters programme.
At the start of the year, each taught postgraduate student is assigned an advisor who will provide personalised guidance on selecting modules and navigating the academic aspects of your programme.
Careers, professional development and graduate attributes
The University’s Careers Centre offers one-to-one advice to all students on a taught postgraduate course and provides a programme of events to help students improve their employability skills.
Management Careers works with the Careers Centre to offer talks and workshops for students in the Department of Management. It presents expert alumni and other guest speakers, and hosts events on career-related topics ranging from writing a good CV to identifying career options.
Professional development
Masters Extra (MX)
The School's Masters Extra (MX) programme is designed specifically for taught Masters students in the Business School and focuses on careers as well as personal and professional development. This series of talks, workshops, networking opportunities and activities includes guest lectures from leading academics and experienced managers. Participants who attend regularly can earn a Certificate in Career Development.
