Dr David Dowell
Senior Lecturer
Biography
David joined St Andrews in August 2017 in the area of marketing, having previously worked at Aberystwyth University and Charles Sturt University. His PhD thesis was an examination of emotional and cognitive trust in SME relationships, which was undertaken after a period in industry. After completing his PhD David has been part of teams which have won best paper awards at the British Academy of Management, Academy of Marketing and Australia New Zealand Marketing conferences. He has also received various grants, including one from the Arts Humanities Research Council.

Research areas
David's research is focused in the non-profit and services marketing theoretical areas, with specific interest in cultural value and volunteering. David uses marketing research methods and theory to work with people from a range of academic backgrounds. Within the School of Management his research is aligned to the Organisations and Society thematic group.
