Art History PhD student Andrea Verganti has been selected as a research fellow on the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Summer Programme.
As a fellow, Andrea will spend over two months at the University of Kyushu in Fukuoka researching early modern depictions of Europeans, analysing both the representation of Westerners in Japan and of the Japanese in Europe at the time.
