11 June 2024

The School of Art History is pleased to announce the St Leonards Digital Education Scholarship for the new MLitt in Digital Art History. Digital Art History is an innovative programme that explores how digital tools and methods can be applied to art historical research. Students will critically examine the possibilities and limitations of digital methodologies while simultaneously developing practical skills in data visualisation, spatial mapping, 3D modelling, and network analysis. The award is open to entrants commencing online studies in September 2024 or January 2025.

You can apply for the scholarship after you have submitted your course application for a place at the University of St Andrews. You do not need to wait until you have received an offer of a place before applying for the scholarship.

Selection is based partly on financial need. You will need to provide a statement explaining your current household financial situation (of not more than 250 words) and a course suitability statement (of not more than 250 words).

The suitability statement should explain:

  • why you have applied for the course
  • how the course relates to your personal or professional ambitions
  • how your academic and professional background show you have the skills needed to work effectively at postgraduate level
