Petronella will be giving a talk entitled ‘The value of risk in transformative experience’, which highlights the inherent value of risk and how it can be partially constitutive of the overall value of an experience. She will show that transformative experiences are naturally characterised as risky experiences, and that this characterisation leads to trouble for decision-theoretic responses to the problem of transformative experience.
