How to apply for undergraduate accommodation

Complete the online form to apply for University of St Andrews accommodation. Check the application guidance for help.

All entrant undergraduate and postgraduate students can apply from 1 March.

Whether your offer is conditional, unconditional, or an insurance place, you must wait for 48 hours after you have received and accepted an offer of a place to study at the University before beginning your accommodation application.

Applications for entrant undergraduate students will open on 1 March.  You can apply for accommodation 48 hours after you receive and accept an offer of a place to study at the University. You should apply as soon as possible, regardless of whether your offer is conditional, unconditional, or an insurance place.

You must apply for accommodation by 30 June in your year of entry to meet the accommodation guarantee. The online application form will be available from 1 March.

On your application, you must list the four types of residences in order of preference:

Once you have set up your University account, you can access your application at any time through your MySaint portal. The ‘Accommodation Online’ portlet will be on your MySaint homepage. If it is not, you can select Add Content and then select Applications>Accommodation Online.

Offers for accommodation

Offers of accommodation for entrant undergraduate students will be sent in batches. Applications are processed once you have met any conditions of your offer and it changes to unconditional firm.

Please do not worry if you are waiting for exam results to meet your offer conditions. Provided you have applied before the 30 June and you meet the criteria, you will be offered accommodation.

Offers will be sent from the end of May and continue to be sent out until late August. After your status has been confirmed as unconditional firm it may be 6 weeks before you receive an offer of accommodation.
