How to apply for postgraduate accommodation

Complete the online form to apply for University of St Andrews accommodation. Check the application guidance for help.

All entrant undergraduate and postgraduate students can apply from 1 March.

You can apply for accommodation 48 hours after you receive and accept an offer of a place to study at the University. You should apply as soon as possible, regardless of whether your offer is conditional or unconditional.

The online application form will be available from noon on 1 March. While there is no deadline for postgraduate accommodation applications, you should apply as early as possible to try and secure a place.

There are a number of rooms guaranteed for Postgraduate taught students which will be allocated on a first come basis. The guarantee may include accommodation in St Andrews, Leuchars or Dundee. Accommodation in Dundee has a Halls Life team to help and support you.

Postgraduates are able to apply for a specific hall of residence. Find out more about postgraduate halls. Postgraduate accommodation is available in St Andrews, Leuchars and Dundee.

Once you have set up your University account, you can access your application at any time through your MySaint portal. The ‘Accommodation Online’ portlet will be on your MySaint homepage. If it is not, you can select Add Content and then select Applications>Accommodation Online.

You should also look at University managed properties and private accommodation options. 

Offers for accommodation

Offers of accommodation for entrant postgraduate students are not sent out until mid-May at the earliest. Applications are processed once your offer is unconditional.
