Accommodation for postgraduate students
The University of St Andrews offers accommodation specifically for postgraduate students.
Prospective postgraduate students can apply for University accommodation 48 hours after receiving and accepting a conditional or unconditional offer to study.
Specific information is available for visiting postgraduates.
Applications
Students can apply online from Saturday 1 March by completing the online form.

Accommodation guarantee
Postgraduate taught students with an overseas fee status are eligible for guaranteed accommodation.
While postgraduate taught and research students with a home fee status are not guaranteed accommodation, the University expects to be able to offer accommodation to many of them. After receiving your accommodation application, we will contact you every month to update you on the current accommodation availability and give you advice on securing private accommodation.
A significant number of University postgraduate students live in private accommodation.
Self-catered standard
In self-catered standard accommodation, you will share a kitchen and bathroom facilities with other residents in self-contained apartments.
Single or accessible room in a three or four-bedroom apartment with shared bathroom and kitchen.
Single room with a large single bed in a five-bedroom apartment with shared bathroom and kitchen.
Single bedroom in a two or five-bedroom apartment with shared kitchen and bathroom.
Individual room in a shared house or apartment of two to four bedrooms. Includes parking, green spaces and a play area.
A furnished room with a single bed in a terraced house with one to five bedrooms.
Self-catered en suite
Self-catered en suite accommodation provides students with a shared kitchen and a private bathroom.
Single room with a small double bed and en suite bathroom and a shared kitchen. Two accessible rooms available.
Single room with a single bed and en suite bathroom in a two-bedroom apartment with a shared kitchen.
Catered
Deans Court and Fife Park are the only catered residences for postgraduate students. Meals are provided for a specific number of weeks.
A selection of single standard and single en suite rooms with a shared kitchen, or a studio apartment with a double bed and private bathroom.
A single room in a five-bedroom apartment with shared kitchen, toilet and shower.
Self-catered studio apartments
Self-catered en suite studio apartments provide accommodation for couples and individuals who need private kitchen facilities. The apartments are self-contained, furnished as a studio bedroom with a double bed, a well-appointed kitchen recess, and an en suite bathroom.
