Guest information for John Burnet Hall

The reception at John Burnet Hall is open daily from 8am to 7pm. If you have any questions or need help during your stay, please contact reception.

Bedroom servicing

The bedrooms are serviced daily. You will find towels, complimentary toiletries and coat hangers in your room. 

Car parking

A limited number of free parking spaces are available. Cars are left at your own risk and you are advised to leave no valuables in them.

Common room

There is a common room known as the West Lounge, on the ground floor. 

Dining room

There is a dining room on the ground floor. All meals at John Burnet Hall are self-service.

Fire alarm 

Details of fire procedures can be found in your room. You should familiarise yourself with all the fire exits within your building. If you require assistance to evacuate in an emergency, please contact a member of staff as soon as possible after arrival.

There is a fire alarm test every Wednesday between 11am and 2pm.

The fire sensors in each room are extremely sensitive. Be careful when using hairspray, perfume, aftershave, and similar items as these may trigger the fire alarm.

General enquiries

The residence office/reception is open daily from 8am to 7pm. Residence staff can also be contacted by calling +44 (0)1334 46 7021. In the event of an emergency between 7pm and 8am please contact the duty person on +44 (0)1334 46 7027.

Keys

You will receive two key cards when you check in, one for the front door and an Onity card for your bedroom. Please carry both cards with you at all times during your stay, and remember to return them to reception when you check out.

For security, the front door is always locked.

Laundry

Download the Washstation app to use the laundry services.

Mail

Incoming mail will be given to group leaders for distribution. Packages and registered letters will be held in the office and you will be notified of any for you. We do not offer a service for outgoing mail. The nearest Royal Mail post box is by the bus station on City Road.

TV room

The TV room is on the ground floor, across from the dining room.
