Data Governance Office
The data community at the University is supported by the Data Governance Office (DGO) who co-ordinates and facilitates corporate data improvement activities and data issue resolution. The DGO has overall accountability for monitoring the University’s data quality capability with specific responsibilities for corporate data held in the University's Data Warehouse.
The DGO is an advisory service for data-related activities and ideas while also acting to:
- support consistency of data governance best practice
- enable data governance exception handling
- plan the delivery of data-related training requirements
- oversee institutional data change requests and data issues
The Data Governance Office is led by the Head of Data Transformation and reports to the Data Steering Group. The Data Steering Group tasks and supports the DGO with activities defined by the University’s strategic plans. Additional details regarding the responsibilities of the DGO and the Data Steering Group can be found in the Data Governance policy.
Staff and students should engage with the IT Service Desk for data support. This includes everything from what you see in MySaint, and in other University systems to updating a piece of centralised data held in the Data Warehouse.
