Associate Dean Curriculum (Science)

The Associate Dean Curriculum for Science is responsible for undergraduate curriculum design and approval for the Faculty of Science.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing undergraduate curriculum design and approval across the Faculty of Science on behalf of the Assistant Vice-Principal (Dean of Learning and Teaching).
  • Academic input on collaborative programmes, study abroad, and work placements.
  • Enhancing access through non-traditional routes.
  • Promoting Sustainability and Entrepreneurship in the Curriculum
  • Member of judging panel for Teaching Excellence Awards and the R & A Scholarship

Dr V Anne Smtih

The current Associate Dean Curriculum for the Faculty of Science is Dr V Anne Smith.

V Anne Smith is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Biology. Her research is in computational biology, where she concentrates on algorithms for and analysis of complex biological networks.

She has worked extensively in genetic, ecological, and neuronal networks, and more recently incorporating other areas such as social sciences. She was a BBSRC committee panel member and spearheaded the revival of the WISSA, Women in Science at St Andrews, Network.
