Bishop Wardlaw Professors

This honour is named after founder of the University, Bishop Henry Wardlaw, and is presented in recognition of participation in a tradition of scholarly excellence established 600 years ago.

University Court awards the title to academics who have been elected as a fellow of one of the UK’s two leading learned societies – the British Academy for scholars in the arts and humanities, and the Royal Society for science and medicine scholars.
