Dr Jordi De Jonghe
Research Fellow in the Solar and Magnetospheric Theory Group
Biography
After finishing my Phd at the Centre for mathematical Plasma Astrophysics (KU Leuven, Belgium) on the topic of waves and instabilities from MHD to multifluid plasma models, I am now working in the Solar and Magnetospheric Theory Group (University of St Andrews, UK) with a focus on tearing instabilities and magnetic reconnection.
Research areas
My research interests include, but are not limited to,
- tearing instabilities and magnetic reconnection in solar and astrophysical plasmas
- multifluid plasma descriptions
- magnetohydrodynamic spectroscopy with the Legolas code
- machine learning applications
For a complete overview of my research activities, please have a look at my personal page.
